More, please

Nathan lost about 2 pounds (2 lbs) when sick, he was given normal food again on 8/27, about 10 days since he had stomach flu. He was so happy to see the "real food" again. He kept complaining the food does not come fast enough and kept ask for more. And he didn't want to leave his high chair even all the food was gone and he was full up to the nose.
His favorite word was 拿拿, when asks for something to play with; Now his favorite word is "Gum", which means "I want to eat that, and NOW!"
He gains back about 1.5 lbs in 3 or 4 days. At this rate, he will weight more than 30 lbs in 2 weeks....

Sick

Nathan was sick for more than a week. Mommy, daddy, aunties, and uncles were all so very worried, praying day and night until Nathan is normal again.
It all started with stomach, Nathan suffered from vomiting and diarrhea on 8/17. August 18 the vomiting stopped, but he still got diarrhea, August 19 the diarrhea continues and Nathan became quite weak and was send to emergency room (ER). He was kept in the intensive care unit (ICU) for one night, some exams was done and an IV (點滴)was given. Even after returned home from hospital, the diarrhea continued for another 5 days. The only thing he can eat during that time was brown rice soup (糙米湯), the only ingredient was brown rice. Everyone including Nathan were so frightened because Nathan was very weak from Friday to Monday, and the diarrhea seemed to go on and on.
praise the Lord that all the bad things have passed and Nathan is healthy again, thank all the aunties and uncles comforted prayed with us. The Lord has heard our prayers and healed Nathan!

Climbing stairs

Since there's no stairs in our house, it was interesting to watch Nathan climbing stairs, especially when he was going downstairs. These pictures were taken at Stephen and Fenny's home when we had a baby-shower for Ann and Augstine.

Walking

Not sure if it's official or not, but Nathan is walking, by himeself, every now and then. He still prefer to walk with others though. We haven't catch a picture of him walking along, but here are some close to that. The second picture was Grant "walking" Nathan.

Oh brother

Nathan is still more interested in boys than girls, maybe has to do with most kids around are boys. The first picture was taken when a aunty Shelly helped baby-sitting a boy. Nathan was excited to have older brother visiting us, trying hard to get the older brother's attention. Second picture was taking when Grant and Isaac visiting us.

feeding time

Feeding time is usually the best time to observe animals in the zoo, you can learn a lot about the animal when they feed. I think the same thing apply to babies. I really learn a lot from Nathan when he eats, espicailly during breakfast, when he feeds himself with cheerios(?)
He can be very creative with the food: he plays with them, sqeezes them, put them all over the table and behind his shoulder, or drops them on the floor. One third will end up lying on the floor, some hidden somewhere in the high chair, some will eventually be send into his mouth. Some will drop out from his cloth somewhere, hours after his breakfast.

Aunty Denise and Aunty Shelly

Nathan is blessed to have two aunties to live with him. Both aunty Denise and aunty Shelly help to take care of Nathan everyday, and they love him very very much. Nathan loves to play with both aunties and have lots of greate time with aunties.

Walking, almost

Nathan is learning to walk, step by step. He will now walking with one hand pulled by others. He loves to take a walk outside, walking fast with no fear and stopping often to collect souvenirs(紀念品).

I can sleep

I take a nap(小睡) in the morning and another nap in the afternoon. Mommy said kids my age should have 14 hours sleep everyday. Although sometime it takes me a long time to fall asleep (I need sometime to calm down, by playing in the bed and talking to myself), I am pretty good at "sleep." Here are pictures to show you that I can sleep this way, and I can sleep that way, I can sleep any way I like, any way.
PS, I specially enjoy sleeping in the corner of the crib.

In the church nursery (在教會育兒室)

Nathan goes to church with us every Sunday. In the beginning we stayed in the TV room with him, and started to send him to the nursery when he's about 5,6 month old. He did pretty well there then. But when we came back from trip to Taiwan, he was about 10 month old, Nathan became very attached(黏) to Mommy, started crying even as we entering the church door. Now he will still cry a little when going to the nursery, the aunty in nursery has to hold him and comfort him to calm him down. But after that he will play very well there. Until Mommy came to fetch him, he came "running" at the first sight of mommy. (Pictures taken by Aunty Shelly).

Sunday afternoon

This weekend was pretty hot, about 95F (35C). When it cooled down a bit in the evening we went out to enjoy the sunset and evening breeze. Look how he enjoyed playing in the front yard, entertaining himself with ants, a dried plum (李子), and anything passed by (people walking dogs, birds, or airplanes)
